President Yoweri Museveni signs the Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law at State House in Entebbe
UGANDAN PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has justified his signing of the Anti-homosexuality Bill into law.
The President said homosexuals must be punished harshly in order to defend the society from disorientation.
“Since nurture is the main cause of homosexuality, then society can do something about it to discourage the trends. That is why I have agreed to sign the Bill,” Museveni said.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni signed into law Monday a controversial bill that will see homosexuals jailed for life, defying international pressure and criticism.
“The president has just signed the anti-homosexuality bill,” said presidential spokeswoman Sarah Kagingo, calling it a “landmark” law.
Museveni’s signing comes despite fierce criticism outside Uganda, with US President Barack Obama saying the law was a “step backward” that would complicate ties with Kampala and that he was “deeply disappointed” in the move
South African Nobel peace laureate Desmond Tutu said Sunday the law recalled sinister attempts by the Nazi and apartheid regimes to “legislate against love”.
The anti-gay bill cruised through parliament in December after its architects agreed to drop a death penalty clause, although the bill still says that repeat homosexuals should be jailed for life, outlaws the promotion of homosexuality and requires people to denounce gays.
Museveni, a key African ally of the United States and the European Union, has already been under fire from key Western donors over alleged rampant corruption, and had been under pressure from diplomats and rights groups to block the legislation.
“The president cannot be pushed by the international lobby groups… he has made it clear whatever he does will be in the interests of Uganda and not foreign interests,” presidential spokesman Tamale Mirundi told AFP.
“Uganda is a sovereign state and the decisions taken must be respected.”
The lawmaker behind the bill, David Bahati, praised the decision to sign it.
“This is the moment the world has been waiting for,” he told AFP.
“We thank our president for taking such a bold move despite pressure from a section of foreign organisations.
“The law is for the good of Uganda, the current and the future generations.”
Museveni, a devout evangelical Christian, earlier this month also signed into law anti-pornography and dress code legislation which outlaws “provocative” clothing, bans scantily clad performers from Ugandan television and closely monitors what individuals watch on the Internet.
Gay men and women in Uganda face frequent harassment and threats of violence, and rights activists have reported cases of lesbians being subjected to “corrective” rapes
Kenya To Host 2018 African Nations Championships (Chan).
A statement in CAF official website reveals that executive committee has settled for Kenya after receiving government guarantee from local body
Confederation of African Football (CAF) has designated Kenya as host of the 2018 African Nations Championships (Chan).
A statement in CAF official website, revealed that Caf executive committee had settled for Kenya after receiving government gurantee from Football Kenya Federation
The statement read in part, “The Caf Executive Committee has designated Kenya as host of the 2018 African Nations Championship (Chan), following receipt of necessary government guarantees and complete dossier including the required infrastructure and security.”
A Caf Special General meeting held on February 21, 2014, in Cairo, made the decision to award Kenya hosting rights for the tournament. President Sam Nyamweya termed the move as a milestone in Kenyan football.
“FKF wishes to tremendously thank the President of Caf, Issa Hayatou, and the entire Caf Executive Committee for bestowing us this honour, only a few days after our successful meeting in Capetown, South Africa, where we presented our bid.
“This is a big milestone in the growth journey of Kenyan football and we are extremely gratified and indeed honoured to have successfully bid for this great showpiece that gives the Kenyan people an opportunity to host the continent of Africa using the great game of football,” Nyamweya told Goal.
Nyamweya continued, “The real work begins now and we call upon all stakeholders and corporate partners to join hands with Kenyans and make the 2018 Chan tournament the best ever in the history of the event.
“A delegation from Caf will be visiting us to begin the process of setting up the administrative and logistical structures to implement the project and we look forward to Kenyans’ unwavering support to this process.

One of Churchill show’s best comedians, Eric Omondi is always up to something amusing. If he is not cross dressing, he is lathering himself with soap and posing in a towel or posing with people who are triple his size.
He recently met up with the voluptuous woman who plays the Momo in the hit song Ino Ni Momo by Murimi wa Ka half. For those who have not watched it you can watch it below
Size 8 releases a new Reggae hit "Yuko Nawewe"
Size 8 changed when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and saviour and there has been no turning back. From doing enticing dance moves in upbeat songs to kicking devils as Jesus would -never mind the fact that Jesus was a pacifist. And she is back again like she never left. The lass who recently got married to top gospel DJ who goes by the name Mo is now back on a reggae tip.
The track as I mentioned earlier is reggae but that seems more of a plot twist of sorts as it starts off as if the track might be a neo-soul track then the tempo builds up and we take off on a celebration of the complete love of Jesus Christ.
The song is sung in Kiswahili and I think that is a very good move given it shows versatility -from flipping the script to flipping the lingua franca and doing a stellar job of it. Details on the song are still scanty but as soon as I find out who worked on the instrumentals and did the mastering and mixing I will share that information. For now, check the track out. I have had to embed it from Liz of Ghetto radio's soundcloud page as it's still not online:

Motorists to buy Sh2000 security number plates
Transport Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau (left) with samples of the new number blades that were made at Kamiti Maximum prisons when he toured the institution on February 24, 2014.
The cost of converting the plates will be Sh2,000 which is the current cost of buying a new pair.
The new-look number plates will be engraved with microchips containing the security features of the vehicles.
Those interested in having special number plates will be required to pay Sh1 million and Mr Kamau said the figure could even be more.
All vehicles will be expected to have new-look number plates which contain security features by the end of the year, the government has said.
Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau on Monday said the equipment to be used in the manufacturing of the new number plates is expected to arrive in the country by mid-next month.
“Production of the new-look number plates is expected to begin immediately the equipment for manufacturing them arrive from Germany by mid next month,” he said.
ENGRAVED WITH MICROCHIPS
The cost of converting the plates will be Sh2,000 which is the current cost of buying a new pair but this will come with an additional fitting for the windscreen.
“We do not have to increase the burden on our motorists and they will get enough time to make the adjustments,” the minister said.
The new-look number plates will be engraved with microchips containing the security features of the vehicles.
Those interested in having special number plates will be required to pay Sh1 million and Mr Kamau said the figure could even be more.
SECURITY FEATURES
Engines form part of the security details to be contained in the microchip and motorists who would want to change their car engines will have to make the same alterations with the registrar of vehicles who will in turn adjust the security features of the number plates to reflect the same.
This, the minister said, will help in tracking the vehicles. “It will be difficult for somebody to just interchange the number plates because police officers will be able to easily detect it,” he added.
He also warned rogue vehicle owners against using their vehicles as collateral when borrowing loans only to change registration and dodge repayment.
“It has been happening in the past but those are some of the things the security features will bring to an end,” he said.
NIGHT TRAVEL
“If decide to issue just a hundred such number plates and more people are interested then we shall be forced to go the auction way,” he said.
The government had approved the manufacturing of the new-look number plates in 2006 and Mr Kamau attributed government procedures to the delay.
Meanwhile, night travel could resume in the next few weeks with some three bus companies on the verge of being allowed to conduct the business.
Mr Kamau said the three companies, which he did not name, have formally applied for the license to ferry passengers at night and that the ministry is winding up their inspection of the companies’ fleets.
“Their buses already have a tracking system and we are still doing a few inspections before we can grant them the license,” he said.

YGB Turn On Octopizzo, Reveal Some Damaging Secrets! Beef Season Is Officially Open
When Octo first came onto the scene, he
had an entire army in back of him that he
would always shout out. That team was YGB.
On his first track "On Top", he kept
shouting them out and it gave you the sense
that we were witnessing what could very
well have been the beginning of Kenya's G-
Unit. then everything seemed to fall flat.
But today, YGB strolled into the Ghafla
offices to explain where they have been and
talk ab out how Octopizzo betrayed them.
And my oh my, this was quite an interview.
It was in a word, explosive! There were
shots fired all round. From Slumdeezy and
Virusi (YGB frontmen) were not trying to
take prisoners. Possibly, pain at what they
perceived to be betrayal was still raw.
What am I? A poet? These guys were taking
shots and trying to get at Octo's crown.
When word that they were in the office was
spread through twitter, Octo took shots at
them in return via tweets and what an
exchange it was! Watch the video below in
which they started by calling Octopizzo the
worst female rapper in the country then
claimed rather sensationally that they were
the people who ghost-wrote Octopizzo's
music:

A Luyha Man invited his friends for his mother's burial.
After lowering the body, the family put a yam, rice, meat etc, into the grave in line with traditions.
A Kikuyu man asked why?
The Luhya man smiled & said, according to our tradition, the dead go on a long journey & need all the food items they can get".
A Luo man dropped 100,000k inside and said,
"When the food is finished, buy some more".
A Kisii man dropped 50,000k and said,
"Add this in case it's not enough".
The Kikuyu man smiled and brought out his cheque book & wrote a cheque of 200,000k, dropped it in the coffin & took the 150,000k notes as change, then said,
"withdraw when you reach dear ... It is going to be a dangerous journey we don't know how many robbers are out there and after all we are in a cashless economy!

Kim Kardashian Flashes Cleavage in Strategically Ripped T-Shirt
Leave it to Kim Kardashian to sex up a basic black T-shirt. The reality star, 33, rocked some provocative casual wear on Saturday, Feb. 8, when she stepped out with sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian in Calabasas, Calif., to film scenes for the latest season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
After dining at Maria's Italian Kitchen, the trio strutted through the parking lot together, each showing off her own individual style. Kim donned gray skinny jeans, sky-high pumps, and a black T-shirt that had been ripped strategically across her chest to reveal her ample cleavage.
Khloe, meanwhile, wore black skinny jeans and a semi-sheer black top. And Kourtney sported a white T-shirt under an oversized black blazer, with dark skinny jeans tucked into thigh-high boots.
The sisters looked very rock 'n' roll chic as they left the restaurant and headed back to their cars. Kim's ensemble, in particular, was a nice complement to her newly brunette-again tresses, which she admitted recently she didn't like.
"I'm so annoyed I dyed my hair dark! I wanted to switch it up since I feel everyone went light, and we started filming a new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, so I wanted a fresh look," Kanye West's fiancee told fans on the site Mobio INsider. "BUT now I am missing my light hair! HELP!!! What do I do? Go light again or stay dark and get used to it?"

Beyonce's half-brother living on food stamps
Beyonce has a 4-year-old half brother (pictured extreme right) who she has never met. She doesn't even acknowledge him. Beyonce's dad had a baby with another woman, Alexsandra Wright, while still married to Beyonce's mum so there's a lot of bad blood there. Apart from dropping him as her manager, Beyonce also put him off her payroll.
Alexandra tells TMZ that Mathew Knowles owes her $32k in back child support and because he's not giving her any money, she's destitute and has to use food stamps to survive. She and her son Nixon make ends meet with $300 from her state issued EBT card which she showed TMZ as evidence.
You can see that after the cut. But let me ask, if you were Beyonce, would you not try to help your half brother? I don't blame Beyonce at all, I understand her reservations with all 'dem baby mama drama but that's your blood, would you not try to help or at least acknowledge him? And he's so cute..

UN Group Reveals How Al-Shabaab Gets Arms
UN monitors have found evidence that arm shipments to the Somali Government have been diverted to clan militias and in one case were destined for an Al-Shabaab rebel commander.
A confidential report by the Somalia and EritreaMonitoring Group, seen by AFP on Friday, found “high level and systematic abuses in weapons management and distribution” by Somaliauthorities.
In February 2013 the United Nations Security Council voted to partially lift an arms embargo against Somalia, seeking to help the beleaguered government in its battle against Islamist guerrillas.
But the council imposed restrictions requiring notification of shipments, banned certain heavy weapons and mandated the Monitoring Group to watch how matters proceeded.
SERIOUS CONCERNS
On February 6, the coordinator of the UNmonitors wrote to the chairman of the Security Council committee overseeing the sanctions to present a report that raised serious concerns.
The report, which is not binding on UN members, recommended a reversal of the loosening of the embargo, to try and stop arms shipped to the Somali Government falling into the wrong hands.
“However, an alternative recommendation to the committee would be to introduce, at the minimum, enhanced notification and reporting requirements, if not a partial tightening,” it said.
Somalia’s government struggles to control its own territory, despite the support of a large African Union force, and the Al-Shabaab rebels regularly launch devastating attacks despite recent defeats.
Since the arms embargo was made more supple last year, Somalia’s allies Ethiopia and Djibouti have sent several large shipments of mainly infantry weapons to government forces.
In addition, according to the US experts’ report, a senior Somali government minister bought weapons from “a foreign government in the Gulf” and shipped them without notifying sanctions monitors.
This in itself constituted a breach of the embargo, the report said, adding: “Indeed, after delivery, some of the weapons were moved to private locations in Mogadishu. Investigations are ongoing.”
The UN monitors reported that they were able to obtain photographs showing rifles that were shipped for use by the Somali army on open sale in Mogadishu markets, with their serial numbers ground off.
Senior Somali officials have also, the report alleges, been implicated in the transfer of weapons meant for the national army to militias tied to the Abgaal and Habar Gedir clans.
Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is a member of the Abgaal clan, and the report says the team found evidence tying a network of officials to arms shipments to the group’s forces.
The group has “obtained documentary evidence corroborating information that a key advisory to the president, from his Abgaal sub-clan, has been involved in planning weapons deliveries to Al-Shabaab leader Sheikh Yusuf Isse ‘Kabukatukade’.” The Security Council is expected to review the arms embargo in March, and could decide either to lift restrictions entirely, maintain the monitored sanctions regime or tighten it. - AFP
PRESIDENT UHURU is the highest paid government official in Kenya in the New Pay Structure
A new salary structure has placed the President as the highest paid government official in Kenya while Resident Magistrates, Kadhis and Members of County Assembly have been ranked as the lowest-paid stateofficers.
The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) with the assistance of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) — which conducted a job evaluation for all Stateoffices — has created 112 state offices, up from the current 50.
The commission has set the President’s salary at a maximum of Sh1.6 million. At one point, the head of the anti-corruption authority was the highest paid public servant with a salary of Sh2.5 million, higher than President Kibaki’s salary. However, the salary was reduced when Mr Justice (rtd) Aaron Ringera left the office.
On Sunday, SRC chairperson Sarah Serem said the current wage bill does not allow for any public or state officer to get a salary increment unless the public is willing to pay more taxes.
“We will only recommend salary increments once the current wage bill returns to normalcy,” she said.
Under the new structure, the President was placed at level G — due to his enormous work of being responsible for cross-national, regional and global strategy formulation.
The new grading structure has also reduce the powers of the chairpersons of the Parliamentary and Judicial Service commissions whose positions were initially graded as the fifth most powerful in the government pecking order. The two are now a rank lower and at the same levels as the heads of other commissions.
According to the SRC report, the role of the Auditor-General was not comparable to that of the Controller of Budget. The evaluators, therefore, agreed that the Auditor General be more powerful.
The evaluators also said there was need to separate elective positions from appointed one in the grading structure.
“It was noted that elective positions should not have any salary progression,” the report said in yet another blow to the perennial push by MPs to raise their pay.

This is how a Kenyan hell looks like- People choose the Kenyan hell when they die
A man dies and goes to hell. There he finds that there is a different hell for each country. He decides he’ll pick the least painful to spend his eternity.
He goes to German Hell and asks, “What do they do here?” He is told:
first they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day”.
The man does not like the sound of that at all so he moves on.
He checks out the USA Hell as well as the Russian Hell and many more. He discovers that they are all similar to the German hell.
Then he comes to the Kenyan Hell and finds that there is a long line of people waiting to get in. Amazed, he asks, “What do they do here?”
He is told:
first they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day”.
“But that is exactly the same as all the other hells. Why are there so many people waiting to get in?” he asks.
“Because KPLC is struggling and there are blackouts most of the time, there is never any electricity, so the electric chair does not work. The nails were paid for but never supplied, so the bed is comfortable to sleep on. And, on top of that, the Kenyan devil is a government employee, he wont come to work till he gets his pay rise, which of course may never happen
Hunger in slums has led to children drinking Chang’aa
Parents in some slums in Nairobi County are giving their children chang’aa in the morning because of lack of breakfast.
Children have been reported to attend school after consuming Chang’aa (an alcoholic drink). Teachers in schools have monitored the students and have been complaining that they are unable to teach students when they have consumed Chang’aa, as some of them could easily have taken one or two glasses of the beverage. Teachers are saying that the children cannot be able to concentrate; most of them end up sleeping in class. Teachers are forced to talk to the parents of the children who are coming to school when drunk.
Parents on the other hand say that they cannot afford to feed their children due to the hard economy times which have led to high costs of living. They said that getting breakfast in the morning is impossible. Also they do not have time to prepare breakfast because they have to sell their chang’aa to earn money to cater for their living.
These parents can afford to wake up early in the morning and prepare chang’aa but they cannot get time to prepare breakfast for their children. Parents indeed need to understand that chang’aa has negative effects on the lives of their children. They are raising up a generation of future drunkards. All parents should understand that the children are the leaders of tomorrow. It’s the responsibility of every parent to make sure that the children have access to the basic human needs.
A parent is a child’s number one role model. If parents are giving these children chang’aa, they believe that it is okay to drink it. So they cannot understand why the teachers discipline them for being drunk yet it is their parents who are giving them chang’aa.
Surprising as the number of Kenyans smoking Shisha is growing tremendously
Shisha pipes use tobacco sweetened with fruits like strawberry, cherry, watermelon or molasses sugar and this makes the smoke aromatic than cigarette smoke.
Shisha smoking is the new thing in town and it’s a must have for every entertainment joint. Most of the mid and high class pubs have shisha lounges. It’s surprising that even ladies nowadays are smoking shisha.
Shisha smoking is spreading to the major towns in Kenya like Nakuru, Mombasa and Kisumu. It is smoked by both the young and the old generation and they smoke in both public and private places.
Apparently shisha is sold even in the five star hotels in Kenya, major pubs in Hurlingham, Westlands and also in the shopping malls.
Experts say that a single shisha session is the same as smoking 200 cigarettes. Shisha smokers inhale more tobacco than cigarette smokers because of the large volume of smoke they inhale in one smoke session and it lasts for as long as 60 seconds.
The side effects of shisha include:
High level of toxic compounds
Shisha has tar, carbon monoxide, heavy metals and carcinogens. Shisha smokers are exposed to high carbon monoxide than cigarette smokers.
Causes cancer.
Shisha contains carcinogens which causes lungs and oral cancer.
Leads to Dependency
Shisha has nicotine and there is a possibility of leading to tobacco dependency
Leads to low weight birth
Pregnant women are advice to avoid shisha since it can result in birth of underweight children
Risks of spreading infectious diseases
If the smoking pipes are not washed properly they can easily spread infectious diseases.
Nameless Recounts Events That Led To E-Sir’s Death
Almost 10 years ago, one of Kenya’s fastest rising artists Issah Mmmari aka E-Sir, lost his life in a tragic road accident.
Alongside Nameless, E-Sir was returning from a concert in Nakuru.
Details on the circumstances that led to the accident have remained sketchy, but Nameless recently opened up to Ghetto Radio. He vividly recounted the events..
“We performed the night before and we were all rested. We departed at around 11am and got distracted by the view of Lake Elementaita for a quick second. That was the last conversation we had, the car had started to swore off so when the driver tried to get back to the road he lost total control and unfortunately the car rolled a couple of times.”
Apparently, E-Sir did not have his safety belt on at the time.
