Renowned political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, on Thursday said ODM is disintegrating because it is in a situation where the “old wine is no longer good for the new wineskin.”
In an interview with Citizen TV Mutahi said the current rebellion in ODM is between old guards led by former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, and young turks led by firebrand Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba and Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho.
He said if Raila and his coterie keep on refusing change in ODM, the Orange party will likely end up being a one tribe partybecause the few Kalenjins and Luhyas remaining will bolt out of the party.
Mutahi said Raila is no longer in charge of the party and it is hooligans led by former Nairobi Mayor, George Aladwa and Wafula Buke, who are calling shots in ODM.
However, regarding the Thursday meeting of Namwamba, Magerer Langat, Gideon Mung’aro and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Mutahi said Raila cannot be shaken
by such kind of meetings because he is a master in politics.
“Raila is not the kind of a person you can surprise with sabotage; he’s an engineer in the politics of sabotaging,” Mutahi said.
