Risper Faith BEATS UP Ala-C For Refusing To Pay Her After Appearing On His Music Video
Violence against women and girls is a gross human rights violation that shouldn’t condoned. However, in this story I wonder whether it can count as violence against women.
It all started as a rosy affair after Calif Records’ top flying artist, Ala-C, called up voluptuous video vixen, Risper Faith, asking her to appear in his upcoming video, “Kula Na Macho” with the promise of a handsome payment. However, the events that were to follow in the next few days turned out to be thorny.
According to the bootyful vixen, Ala-C has been dodging her after she demanded for her payment. A bitter Risper adds that the genge artist has not been answering her calls nor responding to her mails much to her displeasure.
Seeing as she would be fleeced for her effort in the video, Risper and her sidekick, Sheila Husna, put one foot ahead of the other and headed to Calif Records. Upon arrival, they demanded to see the ‘Walking Class’ hit-maker. So, he stepped out of the studio to meet his ‘guests’.
However, things were not so diplomatic as Risper demanded to know why Ala-C had not kept his end of the bargain. When she demanded for her money that’s when things started heading south. With Ala-C even threatening not to pay the two girls, matters went from normal to bizarre in seconds.
Risper and Sheila put aside diplomacy and wore their ratchet hats and started roughing up Ala-C with the hope that he’ll cough up the remaining Ksh30,000 of the agreed Ksh50,000 as he’d already given the two a down-payment of Ksh20,000.
It’s at this point that things got ugly as the three now got physical.
Speaking to Ala-C, he alleges that two ambushed him in studio in uproar disturbing peace in the usually quiet neighbourhood. However, in his defence, Ala-C doesn’t deny that there was violence but says all he did was in self defence after two started poking him with keys on the nose and head.
“Me sikutry kuwachapa, in fact wao ndo walikuja na issues. Me nilitry kujidefend tu.”
He adds that Risper and Sheila were too nagging and impatient to wait for the agreed date of payment (Monday 27th) like the rest of the other 10 girls in the video as he had promised them their cash before the release of the video.
In his revelation he reveals something interesting;
"Ao walikua tu na zao ju Sheila nilitry kumkatia, Risper pia nilitry kumkatia; nilitry kukatia wote wawili na ni mabeshte..."
Ala-C further adds that there’s no way he could have assaulted the two in full view of the public considering there are people who look up to him.

Letter From Cabu Gah To Kabogo
FROM KABUGA to KABOGO: REAL TALK.
Once again, the condescending Governor of Kiambu County, the incredibly misogynistic Man with a venomous tongue and scarlet temper has lashed out at his pet target; WOMEN..
Governor Kabogo,a Man with a name so uncannily similar to mine has blasted a PEOPLE that have been so instrumental in His Birth,Upbringing, Nurture and Development; WOMEN.
Ever on a collision course with the equally-acerbic and venom-spitting THIKA TOWN MP,Alice Nganga….whom I presume is UNMARRIED, Kabogo launched an unfortunate tirade that reeked of dangerous sexism and cheap misogyny.
Kabogo claimed that UNMARRIED WOMEN who are over 35 Years of AGE are INELIGIBLE to vie for office because,”they have failed in the home front….”
Kabogo said,and I quote,
“We must not elect leaders who do not have family values. I ask you women who are more than 35 years old and not married to get married as you are the reason men have problems,”
Those are NOT Kabuga’s words. But Kabogo’s words.
He added,
“We will be asking any woman who wants to be elected to bring her husband and any interested man to bring his wife. I will now be moving around with my wife,”
Oops.
As if HAVING a WIFE Qualifies a Man to be HOLY.
As if HAVING a wife elevates a MAN to sainthood.
As if HAVING a wife catapults MEN to a stratospheric sphere of pure righteousness and immaculate piousness.
As if HAVING a wife equates MEN with the likes of the saintly Francis of Assisi.
Having a WIFE OR A HUSBAND does NOT make YOU BETTER.
It ONLY means YOU ARE TAKEN.
PERIOD.
My elder sister is SINGLE. UNMARRIED with a gorgeous baby girl who is in class 4 now.
I have watched MY sister do it on her on…struggle to clothe, feed, nurture, tend to and shelter her daughter effortlessly.
I have watched MY niece grow into a beautiful, beautiful Angel…I have seen her develop into a model young lady…a sterling performer in class with a smart brain, sharp wit and deadly sense of respect.
I have watched MY sister bring her up…discipline her, correct her, caution her and inculcate her.
I have immense revere for MY UNMARRIED sister.
And when Kabogo takes shots at UNMARRIED Women, suggesting that they are lesser humans or immoral creatures, I FEEL OFFENDED.
Because MY sister belongs to THAT CLASS.
Well,Former Italian Premier Silvio Belusconi was a MARRIED Elected Leader,Right?? But isn’t He the SAME Man who organized countless sexual orgies with Italian prostitutes as Young as 14??
Former IMF C.E.O Strauss-Khan was an elected Head of the International Bank and Socialist Politician, Right? But isn’t He the same bastard who attempted to RAPE a black maid in New York? And groped female journalists’ breasts and thighs shamelessly??
Well,JACOB ZUMA of South Africa has 98 wives…And we all know what a complete DOUCHEBAG he has become.
MARRIAGE DOESNT MAKE YOU A SAINT.
YOU MAKE YOU A SAINT.
If Mother Teresa had a husband,I doubt she would have gone down in history as the GREATEST WOMAN of the 20th Century.
But she was an UNMARRIED old catholic woman who touched AND changed MILLIONS of Lives…Not just in India…But Across the WORLD.
If I am an idiot,MY WIFE won’t make me a GENTLEMAN….I will continue being an IDIOT.
Therefore, it is MY responsibility as MYSELF to search MY soul, search MY heart, search MY spirit and search MY mind….to find the purpose of LIFE…To live a complete unquestionable Life and to be accountable, responsible and answerable to ALL MY ACTIONS.
A spouse is just an EXTENSION of You.
Not a REPLACEMENT.
Queen Jezebel was MARRIED to King Ahab.
And Queen Esther was Also married to King Ahasuerus.
But the first QUEEN,even though she was MARRIED,DESTROYED Israel.
And the second Queen, even though she was also MARRIED, RESTORED Israel.
You see?? Marriage DOESNT CHANGE YOU.
Married or Not,YOU REMAIN WHO YOU ARE.
If You are capable of killing thousands BEFORE Marriage,You are capable if killing thousands even AFTER Marriage.
And If You are capable of changing the World BEFORE Marriage,You are still capable of changing the World even AFTER Marriage.
A Ring on the FINGER doesn’t transform a murderer into a saint.
Its Marriage. Not Magic.
From Kabuga to Kabogo.

Octoppizo Attacks Gospel Artists…See What He Calls Them
Rapper Octopizzo recently attacked Kenyan gospel artists calling them hypocrites.
In an interview with Ghetto radio, the singer said that the Kenyan gospel industry was just a money making platform instead of spreading the word of God.
This is not the first time that the gospel industry has come under attack. Other rappers such as Kaligraph also share the same sentiments. They strongly feel the mode of dressing in gospel music videos does not portray Christian virtues.

The lowest temperatures ever recorded on Earth: Its a cold world
North America is one of the coldest places on earth right now. (It’s a close tie with Russia’s frozen wastes.)
But the sub-zero temperatures recorded in the United States and Canada over the past few days are nothing the planet hasn’t seen before. In fact, compared to the coldest Earth has gotten in the past century, the current weather is — entirely unscientific analogy alert — more of a brisk November day than a January face-freezer.
Here’s the iciest our world has ever been, according to the World Meteorological Organization’s records. -128.5ºF sort of puts -15ºF into perspective, doesn’t it?
1. Vostok, Antarctica: -128.5ºF (-89.2ºC)
Russia's Vostok research station in Antarctica (Todd Sowers/Wikimedia Commons)
Recorded on July 21, 1983, this remains the lowest temperature ever reliably measured on Earth — and has earned the Russian research station where it was recorded the frankly awesome title of “World Pole of Cold.” Scientists using remote sensors claim that nearby parts of East Antarctica are actually even colder (-137ºF, to be precise), though the World Meteorological Organization says only measurements taken by equipment on the ground count as official.
Either way, it’s freaking cold. Around 25 people are usually based at Vostok in the summer months — if a period in which the average temperature is -22ºF can still be classed as “summer” — and 13 in winter, when the mercury typically hovers around the -85ºF mark. They have to contend not only with extreme cold, but air with minimal moisture or oxygen content, high winds, whiteouts and around four months of continual polar night. Well-wrapped humans are thought to be the only living beings capable of surviving the extreme conditions, and then only with a certain amount of vomiting, headaches, high blood pressure and, according to one physiologist’s observation, finding themselves “afraid to sleep at night for fear that they would stop breathing.”
And that’s when the heating’s working: in 1982, the year before its record-breaking temperature was recorded, the Vostok station’s power plant was wiped out by fire, leaving its inhabitants without heat for all eight months of polar winter that followed. They kept from freezing by burning candles improvised out of asbestos fiber and diesel fuel.
2. Oymyakon, Russia: -90ºF (-67.7ºC)

The small town of Oymyakon in northeast Russia has the honor of being the coldest place in the northern hemisphere, and the coldest permanently inhabited place in the entire world. Its lowest temperature was measured on Feb. 6, 1933. (The same temperature was also recorded in the nearby town of Verkhoyansk, more than a century earlier, but scientists consider the later measurement more accurate.)
According to more recent data, Oymyakon’s daily mean temperature for January is -51.5ºF; but in July, the thermometer's been known to measure up to 94.3ºF. That gives the town one of the most schizophrenic climates in the world. Fewer than 500 people live there, for reasons that should be obvious.
3. Northice, Greenland: -87ºF (-66.1ºC)
Icebergs in Qaqortoq, Greenland (Joe Raedle/Getty Images)
Officially the coldest place in the western hemisphere. The temperature was measured on Jan. 9, 1954, at the research station set up by scientists carrying out the British North Greenland Expedition.
Greenland is, as expedition leader C. J. W. Simpson put it, “a gigantic basin of ice.” In his account of the two years he and his team spent there, he writes: “Nearly all the native inhabitants are settled on the west coast, where a warm sea current takes the chill off the climate. The north-east coast where we were based is much less accessible; it is guarded from the sea by a belt of pack ice which may be as much as 100 miles wide, and to force a way through the east Greenland pack is difficult and dangerous.” With the help of the Royal Air Force, which airdropped boats into the icy wastes, the team managed it; but they again left in summer 1954, soon after measuring the record temperature. Thankfully for the polar bears that are its main residents — one of which Simpson’s men killed and ate — the area has remained uninhabited by humans ever since.
4. Snag, Canada: -81.4ºF (-63ºC)
Northern Lights, Yukon, Canada (Studiolit/Flickr)
If you’ve never heard of the tiny settlement of Snag, in Canada’s Yukon Territory, you’re not alone. In 1947, when it became the coldest place in North America, only a couple of dozen people lived there, most of them stationed at a military airfield. It was there, in the middle of the harshest winter on record, that officers noticed strange things happening: sounds carried miles further than usual. You could hold a piece of ice in your hand, indoors, for more than five minutes before it would start turning to water. Breath would freeze in the air, making a hissing sound and leaving vapor trails up to 500 yards long. Early on Feb. 3, Officer Gordon M. Toole saw the alcohol in the thermometer fall below its minimum -80ºF marker and, since it was too cold for a pen to work, scratched a line into the instrument with a file.
That record has never yet been beaten. In comparison, the coldest temperature measured in Canada today was -47ºF, at Stony Rapids Airport in Saskatchewan — cold, yes, but not what’s-that-behind-me-oh-just-another-hissing-trail-of-my-own-instantaneously-frozen-exhalations cold.
5. Everywhere else

All the places we’ve described so far, well, you’d expect them to be freezing. But no continent is a stranger to a cold snap. Mainland Europe? Try -62.9ºF in Austria and -57.2ºF in Italy. Asia? China, India and Turkey have all seen temperatures below -50ºF. Argentina has got as cold as -38ºF, Australia once measured -9.4ºF and Morocco fell to -11ºF.
If that’s not a reason to stay indoors today, we don’t know what is.

A world without antibiotics? The risk is real
Experts tracking the rise of drug resistance say years of health gains could be rolled back by mutating microbes that make illnesses more difficult and expensive to cure and carry a higher risk of death.
Some say the threat to wellbeing is on the scale of global warming or terrorism — yet resistance is being allowed to spread through an entirely preventable means — improper use of antibiotics.
"It is a major public health problem," Patrice Courvalin, who heads the Antibacterial Agents Unit of France's Pasteur Institute, told AFP.
"It is about more than not being able to treat a disease. It will erase much progress made in the last 20-30 years."
Without antibiotics to tackle opportunistic bacteria that pose a particular risk for people who are very ill, major surgery, organ transplants or cancer and leukaemia treatment may become impossible, he explained.
"In some parts of the world, already we have run out of antibiotics," said Timothy Walsh, a professor of medical microbiology at Cardiff University.
"In places in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, possibly Russia, Southeast Asia, central South America, we are at the end game. There's nothing left. And unfortunately there is nothing in the pipeline either."
Resistance to drugs emerges through changes in the bacterium's genetic code —altering the target on its surface to which antibiotics would normally bind, making the germ impenetrable or allowing it to destroy or "spit out" the antibiotic.
These super-germs triumph through Darwinian pressure, helped by humans.
The wrong antibiotics, taken for too short a period, in too low a dose or stopped to early, will fail to kill the altered microbes.
Instead, the drugs will indiscriminately damage other bacteria and give the resistant strain a competitive advantage — allowing it to dominate and spread.
At the base of the problem is doctors prescribing antibiotics wrongly or unnecessarily, and the ease with which medicines can be obtained without a script in some parts of the world, including Asia and Africa.
As much as 70 percent of antibiotics are given for viral infections, against which they are wholly ineffective, the experts say.
Then there is the problem of farmers in countries like the United States adding antibiotics to animal feed to help herds grow faster.
Compounding all of this is the rise in global travel — a boon for bacterial spread, and a sharp drop in antibiotics development blamed on a lack of financial incentives for the pharmaceutical industry.
A return to the pre-antibiotic era?
The World Health Organization (WHO) says drug resistance "threatens a return to the pre-antibiotic era."
"Many infectious diseases risk becoming untreatable or uncontrollable," it states in a factsheet on antimicrobial resistance.
A case in point: some 450 000 people developed multi-drug resistant (MDR) TB in 2012 and 170,000 died from it. MDR TB does not respond to the most potent TB drugs — isoniazid and rifampin.
Nearly 10 percent of MDR cases are thought to be of the even deadlier XDR (extensively drug resistant) variety which does not respond to a yet wider range of drugs.
Like other drug-resistant microbes, MDR and XDR TB can be transferred directly between people — you can get it even if you have never taken antibiotics in your life.
"Antibiotic resistance is an emerging disease and a societal problem. The use you can make of an antibiotic depends on the use made by others," said Courvalin.
Another worry for health planners today is the spread of a multi-drug resistant strain of the bacterium Klebsiella pneumoniae — a common cause of infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract and bloodstream, and a frequent source of hospital outbreaks.
In some parts of the world, only the carbapenem antibiotics class remains effective, but now signs are emerging of resistance even to this last line of defence.
Antibiotics are thought to have saved hundreds of millions of lives since Alexander Fleming first discovered penicillin in 1928.
But even Fleming's own warnings of impending drug resistance went unheeded, and now scientists say people may start dying from infections like meningitis and septicaemia that are eminently curable today.
"If we keep going like this, the vast majority of human bacterial pathogens will be multi-resistant to antibiotics," said Courvalin.
The answer? Prudent drug use — better and faster diagnosis to determine whether an infection is viral or bacterial and whether it is even susceptible to treatment.
Farmers must stop feeding antibiotics to their livestock, and hospital and individuals improve their hygiene to prevent bacterial spread.
Yet few experts believe the damage can be undone.
"The bugs have become very sophisticated, they've become very complex," said Walsh.
"You can decrease resistance or reduce it, but never completely reverse it."
This is where your country would be if Pangea existed today
In a modern-day Pangea, Antarctica would be all up in Australia's business
So there's this thing called continental drift, which means that the continents are always moving around.
Given enough time, and because the Earth is round (the Earth is round!), there comes a point when all the land masses on the face of the Earth run into each other. Eventually they drift away again, but for a while at least they form a giant glob called a supercontinent.
Pangea is the most recent supercontinent the Earth has had. It formed 300 million years ago and stayed that way for 100 million years before the land masses started drifting apart again.
Here is a picture of Pangea (source) as it was 300 million years ago, but with today's modern political boundaries drawn in:
Pretty cool. Really makes you think: what would it be like if the US bordered Morocco?
Or the worst scenerio if Kenya boardered India through Madagascar? try and guess!!!

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — South Africa’s days as top dog on the continent are numbered. Booming, bustling Nigeria is about to become Africa’s biggest economy.
So pop open a bottle of Moet & Chandon — after all, from 2012-2013, seven Nigerian branches of South African supermarket group Shoprite sold more of the bubbly than its 195 South African shops combined, a sign of Nigeria’s effervescent economy as well as the tastes of its ostentatiously wealthy elite.
As you read this, Nigeria, despite its endemic corruption, grinding poverty, and sectarian violence, has probably already passed into the No. 1 slot, just not officially. How, and why? It’s all about the numbers. GlobalPost breaks it down:
Population size
The simple fact is that Nigeria has more people — many, many more people: The population of Nigeria is 169 million, compared to a slim 51 million for South Africa.
Of course, South Africa is a far more developed country than Nigeria, with good infrastructure and banks, and a diverse and sophisticated economy. Nigeria, the biggest oil producer in Africa, remains heavily reliant on the oil industry and is plagued by corruption and inequality.
For these reasons, South Africa has a much higher average GDP per capita, at $7,508 compared to $1,555 in Nigeria. Some 100 million Nigerians still live on less than $1 a day.
But in terms of sheer economic weight, there’s just no competing with the most populous country on the continent.
‘Rebasing’
Nigeria’s gross domestic product was $292 billion last year, compared with $354 billion for South Africa, according to International Monetary Fund figures.
But Nigeria’s statistics office is about to change the way various sectors of the economy are weighted when it comes to determining the estimated GDP.
Currently, Nigeria’s GDP figure is based on a weighting from 1990. In other words: It is hugely underestimated. Sectors such as IT and telecoms have grown significantly in recent years, and this hasn’t been taken into account.
Analysts say that Nigeria’s GDP figure could jump by anywhere between 20 and 65 percent when the new calculations are released (expected in early February; there have been several delays already).
That means Nigeria may see its GDP increase to between $384 billion and $424 billion this year.
Such a leap isn’t unprecedented. Neighboring Ghana’s GDP estimate increased by about 60 percent in 2010 after its figures were rebased. Many other sub-Saharan African countries also think their GDP is underestimated, according to Simon Fraser University professor Morten Jerven, an expert on African development statistics. And so other countries will likely follow suit.
Speedy growth — and lack of strikes
Nigeria’s economy has been growing at a rate of around 6 to 7 percent per year, compared to just 2 to 3 percent for South Africa.
South Africa is starting from a much higher base, of course. But its economy has been limping compared to many others on the continent, not least due to labor unrest in the mining, transport, and auto manufacturing sectors.
Pravin Gordhan, the South African finance minister, said last week that the country can’t afford more strikes in the platinum sector, warning that they would further hurt investor confidence and damage the economy.
On Thursday, however, the main trade union launched a strike over wages at the world’s top three platinum producers. The rand, South Africa’s currency, tumbled to a five-year low.
Nigeria’s growth may yet be hampered by its many problems. The army is fighting an insurgency in the north against the Al Qaeda-linked Boko Haram militant group. In the south, there is persistent violence and banditry in the oil-rich Niger Delta region. Corruption remains a huge drain on the economy.
Nevertheless, it would be a shock if Nigeria didn’t soon become No. 1.
Beyonce To Be Studied In The University
Queen Bee has joined other celebrities including Oprah and husband Jay Z, (who has a Georgetown University sociology course named after him), who are studied in the University. The course is called Politicizing Beyonce and can be taken at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
The University’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies will be exploring the social & cultural significance of the songstress’s music and image.
The course will allow fans to explore Beyonce's alter ego Sasha Fierce, and debate the extent of control she has over her own image. They will also debate whether her red hot persona is an outlet of female sexual empowerment or merely complying with western gender stereotypes.
"This isn’t a course about Beyonce’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend. She certainly pushes boundaries.
While other artists are simply releasing music, she’s creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona.’ Kevin Allred, the person in charge of the course at Rutgers University said
Music awards lose sponsor
Johannesburg -
While the music industry and fans have expressed shock at MTN’s withdrawal of its sponsorship from the South African Music Awards (Samas), the organisers say they are confident the show will go on.
After 10 years of brand association between the cellphone giant and the biggest entertainment event on the calendar, it was announced in a tabloid newspaper on Thursday that MTN had pulled its sponsorship.
“This is not a crisis,” said Dave du Plessis, operations director of Samas’s governing body, the Recording Industry of South Africa (Risa). “Of course, the Samas will take place this year.”
Du Plessis was responding to concerns that the Samas might be in jeopardy because of the sudden lack of sponsorship.
He said that late last year, Risa had not received confirmation from MTN and then told the cellphone company that it would be looking for other sponsors for the event.
“This is not a bad reflection on the Samas,” he continued.
“We have nothing to be concerned about because the Samas are an established brand. Musicians never walk into our offices asking to enter the MTN Samas. They ask to enter the Samas.”
The Samas celebrate their 20th year this year.
The chief marketing officer for MTN South Africa, Brian Gouldie, said: “As with normal business practices, MTN underwent a review of its sponsorship portfolio, taking into consideration the alignment of each of the sponsored properties to brand and business objectives for 2014.”
Du Plessis said the Samas would name their new sponsors at the nominations announcement party at the end of March.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 27.

The Most Successful Kenyan Dancehall Artists of All Time
Redsan
Many call him the Kenyan Dance-hall King but I think he deserves a bigger title, The East African Dance-hall King or even The African Dance-hall King.
Redsan joined the industry in the 90′s and since then, he has managed to maintain his status as the most sought after Kenyan Artist producing massive hit after hit.
He has kept his personal life as private as possible and despite being the most paid Kenyan Musician, no one has ever thought of ranking him among the richest artists in Kenya since his wealth and businesses are impossible to trace due to his nature of avoiding unnecessary publicity.
Redsan is the one artist who can stay for several years without producing a song but when he does, it is never said that he is making a comeback.
Wyre
Wyre is also another force to reckon with as far as the Kenyan entertainment industry is concerned.
He is the most hardworking and determined artist we’ve hard in our music industry so far.
Many know him for his humility and
perfection in everything he does. This has earned him many awards both
locally and internationally. So far, he is the Kenyan artist with the
highest number of international collaborations and his latest jam
‘nakupenda pia’ which featured Jamaican queen Alaine is the most watched
Kenyan Video on You-tube.
He is also filthy rich but his decision to
keep his private life and business away from the public has kept Kenyans
guessing how much he may be worth.
